I just went to the gym for the first time in months. YESSSSSS! I won't lie; it was rough. The Biggest Loser was on more than one television. I tried to just close my eyes and focus on my music, but then my mp3 player batteries conked out and I was left with screens full of people trying to run around a track while being tempted with giant platters of pancakes and french fries and I wanted to murder everyone. So I went over to the desk and asked the lady there to please switch the channel to anything that didn't bank on me hating my body. She was mystified.

I finished up three little baby quilts this morning that I made from scraps leftover from Sally's quilt. They used all the scraps up perfectly!

I went to an old camp friend's wedding on Saturday. We had a fantastic time. Here I am with four of my best gals, enjoying the king sized bed in the executive suite:

Also, somehow I ended up with a shovelful of popcorn between my breasts and flashed my bra for a nearby camera. Pretty standard fare.

Why does this always end up happening?

All that's left is trimming the stray threads, ironing out the wrinkles, handsewing on the tag, and wrapping her up.

I love this quilt so much. It's really hard to give this one away.

Last night, Dodie and I stumbled out of bed buck naked after a heavy session of gettin' it on, only to find my apartment door WIDE OPEN for anyone in the hallway to see/hear the goings on. Bea Arthur, who spends a great deal of his time wondering how he could possibly get out of the apartment and into the hallway, was lying on the rug right outside my bedroom door as if it was some sort of test of his will and he had just passed. GOOD KITTY! I'm a little embarrassed at the possibility that someone came into the hallway downstairs while we were smooching it up... it must have been quite the clamour with the door flapping away in the breeze.

Here is Bea five minutes ago, maxing & relaxing in the windowsill and wondering why he didn't escape while he had the chance. Awww.

I took a vacation day today to work on Roxanne's quilt, due to be finished for her wedding on Saturday. I'm working on the binding right now... almost there. My neck is totally ready for this to be over.

Here are some Philly pictures!

This is my first view of Philadelphia. Isn't it pretty?

There are fourteen million more, and am I cutting them? Okay fine I will! )

I know I'm the only viewer left in the world, but Survivor is SO MUCH FUN this season. I was lucky enough to draw Ozzy's name in our Survivor pool at work. Not only can he catch fish with his bare hands, but he might help me pay for my groceries, which I always seem to be buying with next week's paycheque. Hooray! Fish like the wind, Ozzy.

I bought Pictionary at the Sally Ann today for two bucks! Anyone want to come over and play it with me? I also bought a dress which is way too small for me, but which I would like to use as a jumping-off point to make a larger pattern for me. [info]robotropolis, if the dress is salvageable after I'm done with it, I think it might be up your alley, and might fit you nicely.

My brother Ryan got married just over a year ago. I don't think I really talked about it, but it was a monumental event in my family. Not only did my brother marry my awesome new sister-in-law Melissa, but it was without a doubt the happiest I've ever seen my family together. My family doesn't go in big for joy, see. They're reserved, shy, pent up, afraid of being vulnerable to others, and socially awkward, even (perhaps especially) with each other. The wedding marked the only time I've ever seen my parents dance the entire night away. All of the families from the old neighborhood were there, and everyone just laughed and danced all night long. I'm finding it hard to verbalize how extraordinary it was... I suppose because for most families, it wouldn't necessarily be so.

This is the wedding photographer's photo of my dad in the middle of a dance circle, shooting hilarious finger guns, with my mom cheering him on behind him. You can find my dad's sister easily, as she is also shooting finger guns... it must be a genetic trait.
